Dr Michael Civil’s
Work and Involvement with the RACGP

Having returned from a wonderful trip to the Gibb River Road, in North Kimberley, and working in Gunbalanya, in Arnhem Land, it was time to return to work!

The PCEHR is undergoing continuing challenges, but progress continues to be made. It is great to have finally been able to upload a shared health summary to my own PCEHR. Patient's are now starting to ask US about the process and the consumer interest in using an eHealth Record could be starting to wind up.

GP13 is just around the corner and it will be great to visit Darwin again, catch up with everyone and get the vibe as to what the key concerns are in our great profession, from those working at the coalface!

There continues to be many areas that will tax our profession particularly with the National eHealth records, Standards and how Medicare Locals are rolling out services in Primary Care. My aim will remain to consider any position and opportunity, that will further general practice as a profession and make the work of GPs easier and even more rewarding.

The video clip to the left, gives some of the background as to issues that I see as being important for our profession.
