| I am delighted to provide this testimonial for Dr Mike Civil, a highly valued College member who has made a very significant contribution to the College in recent years. Mike’s experience in both urban and rural practice and strong understanding of the logistics and importance of practice management and small business ‘smarts’ have assisted the RACGP greatly over the past 3 years. Mike played a key role as part of the team which shaped the 4th Edition RACGP practice standards – a huge task with very tight timelines. He has also generous supported the College with his expertise in e-health and telemedicine and with Dr John Bennett, has formed the backbone of the team responding to very significant and complex e-health issues for our profession over the past 2 years. Mike has also been involved with the work of the Presidential Taskforce. Mike is our RACGP national spokesperson on e-standards and Chairs our National Standing Committee on Standards – both complex and demanding roles – which he discharges with distinction. |
As well as having a busy clinical practice, Mike has strong commitments to teaching and building the workforce of the future via his long-standing GP supervisor and med student teaching involvement. He has brought to all his many College roles a consistent approach - clear thinking, inclusive leadership, extraordinary loyalty and capacity for hard work, kindness and respect for others, and integrity of the highest order. |
